China has lifted bans on the import of avian origin canned pet food

    On Feb 7^th, GACC has updated the notes in the “white list” of overseas pet food production and processing enterprises: The animal-derived raw materialsof specific products are dynamically restricted by the List of Animals and Their Products Prohibited from Importation from countries and areas with epidemic animal diseases (except canned pet food of poultry origin processed by commercial sterility).

    This indicates that canned pet food of avian origin, including canned pet food（wet food）and canned pet snacks, will not be affected by avian related epidemics and will be allowed to be exported to China.

    Up to now, pet food production and processing enterprises and pet food raw material processing enterprises from 21 countries or regions have been approved to export to China，including Thailand, Taiwan,The Philippines, Uzbekistan, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Italy, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, Kyrgyzstan, New Zealand, Austria, Spain.

Note: [1] Commercial sterility refers to the absence of pathogenic microorganisms or non-pathogenic microorganisms that can thrive in the food after moderate thermal sterilization. Commercial sterility is the microbiological test index of canning process. Eating food with unqualified microbe will affect the health of pets.
