1. Regulation&Law
According to the relevant provisions of the "Administrative Measures for the Safety of Import of Agricultural GMOs" (Order No. 9 [2002] of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China), overseas enterprise who wants export agricultural GMOs products to the People's Republic of China for processing raw materials shall apply to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs for obtaining Agricultural GMO Safety Certificate.
Overseas enterprise engaged in agricultural GMOs trading shall according to the above safety evaluation and approval, apply for each batch of import safety certificate with the copy of safety certificate and related materials obtained by foreign research and development developers. Importers engaged in agricultural GMOs trade shall go through the inspection procedures at the port entry-exit inspection and quarantine institutions with the Certificate of Agricultural GMO Safety ( Import) and the Examination and Approval Document of Agricultural GMO ID Identification.
2. Application Conditions
a. The agricultural genetically modified organisms applied for import have been allowed to be used as corresponding purposes and put on the market in the export countries or regions.
b. The agricultural genetically modified organisms applied for import have been proved to be harmless to humans, animals and plants, microorganisms and the ecological environment in the exported countries or regions.
c. Have the corresponding safety management and preventive measures.
3. Prohibited requirements
Those who have not obtained the agricultural GMO safety certificate (import) of overseas R & D developers shall not apply.
